Coaching / Hypnotherapy is an interactive experience where we discover your desired outcome then work on the factors to help you get the life you want.
Our first session is 90 minutes and subsequent sessions are approximately 60 minutes .
I work with most clients via zoom and have clients from all over the world, however, there are opportunities for face to face sessions on the Sunshine Coast in Australia and in Kona, Hawaii
100%! What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions.
The time that your process will take depends on the complexity of your issues and your commitment and openness to your process. Commonly we need between 3-6 sessions.
Hypnosis is a state of relaxation in which the subconscious mind can be accessed, allowing change and transition to take place in a gentle, easy and effective way.
The late Dr Milton Erickson is the key figure behind much of the hypnosis we use today. Erickson believed that the client’s subconscious mind already possesses all of the resources necessary for the desired changes to take place. The therapist’s job is to help the client find and use these resources effectively.
Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation which is natural and safe.
It feels very much like day dreaming i.e., the state between sleeping and waking. In this state of relaxation the brain wave vibration rate slows down, (alpha state) giving access to the subconscious mind, suggestibility is heightened, enabling suggestions for healing and empowerment to be readily accepted. We are all influenced by suggestions and hypnosis uses this natural process to change negative patterns into positive patterns of behaviour. During hypnosis you remain in control of yourself and are aware of what is going on around you. Most people find hypnotherapy an enjoyable relaxing way to achieve positive outcomes.
Hypnotherapy is based on the relationship between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind has no power to reason and therefore accepts and acts upon any fact or suggestion given to it. This is why hypnotherapy is so effective.
Common misconceptions
The techniques and principles of hypnosis have been used to benefit people for many years. When stripped of the misunderstandings and mystery that surrounds it, hypnosis can be seen for what it really is – a normal, natural healthy state of mind which virtually anyone can achieve with the correct guidance. All that is needed is a desire to be hypnotised and co-operation with the hypnotherapist, you cannot be hypnotised against your will.
One common misconception about hypnosis is that the client is giving over their control to the therapist. Hypnosis is not power over another person rather a co-operation between therapist and client, the client remains in control of himself and allows himself to go into a state of relaxation with the therapist as a guide.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) studies the way in which we perceive the world around us, how we think, feel and act, and how our thoughts, emotions and behaviours are organised.
NLP originated in the USA and was founded in the early 1970’s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. NLP incorporates insights from behavioural and Gestalt psychology, family therapy, hypnotherapy, linguistics and information processing technology.
NLP looks at how (rather than why) people get the results they do. NLP started from studying people who are exceptionally good at what they do, and finding out how they do it so that others can obtain similar results by doing the same things. NLP aims to achieve ‘generative’ change, which empowers you to achieve more in every area of your life. Most people find that when they learn a new skill or make a breakthrough in one area of their life, the problems they had in other areas seem to disappear or become less important.
The Neuro part of NLP comes from the idea that all behaviour stems from our neurological processes of sight, hearing, feeling, smell, and taste, our world is experienced through these five senses. We make sense out of the information received from these senses and act on it.
The Linguistic part of NLP indicates that we use language to order our thoughts and behaviour and communicate with others.
Programming refers to the ways in which we can chose to organize our ideas and actions to produce results.
So in a nutshell, NLP deals with the structure of our experiences, how we organise what we see, hear and feel smell and taste and how we delete, distort and filter the information that comes in to us through our senses. It also looks at how we describe experience through language and how we act intentionally or unintentionally to produce results.
If we think of the human neurological system of mind and body as an information system that can be programmed, then we can understand that by developing specific patterns, things such as limiting or sabotaging beliefs can be reprogrammed. With NLP we are able to effect deep changes from the inside out.
A phobic response that has lasted for decades can be altered in as little as 1 session!
NLP is “Content Free”
NLP concentrates on the structure of an experience, rather than the content. It focuses on how you think about something rather than what you are thinking about.
This means that an NLP practitioner can usually help you with a problem without you having to reveal every detail of where it came from. The advantage of this is that it takes away the embarrassment which some people may associate with getting help.
One of the things that often surprises people about NLP is the speed with which many problems can be resolved. Solving problems is all about learning – at the unconscious level, and this learning can happen very quickly with NLP processes.
What can NLP do for me?
NLP brings about self development and change and can be used in all areas of your life. It can:
Enhance confidence
Release negative emotions such as fear, guilt, anger, sadness
Remove phobias and fears eg arachnophobia, fear of flying etc.
Free you from anxiety/panic attacks
Enhance communication skills – individual and business.
Create the future you desire
Improve performance in all areas of your life
Develop goals that really work
Time Line Therapy™ (TLT) is a process which evolved from hypnosis and NLP, and was developed in the 1980's by Tad James.
Time Line Therapy ® is a guided process which enables you to easily and effortlessly let go of the negative emotions and limiting beliefs that are holding you back from being the real you and reaching your full potential. TLT works at the unconscious level to release the effects of past negative experiences and undesirable or outdated programming in minutes rather than months or years.
With TLT we can also take steps toward creating a congruent future that enables you to reach your true potential.
